The Rockville Model Railroad Society (RMRS) was founded in 2004 in Rockville, MD by the merging of the Gaithersburg Model Railroad Society and the Maryland Central Model Railroad club. We are currently looking for space to house a permanent layout and meeting space. While we look for a permanent home, we meet regularly in round-robin style meetings at members’ homes which are occasionally open to the public. We have a diverse group, modeling in nearly all popular scales and subjects. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization.
Club Officers
Officers are elected yearly at the club’s annual business meeting in April/May. Officers carry out duties essential to the ongoing operations of the club.
Additionally, when active, the club has various working committees that carry out the day-to-day club activities. These include: Layout Design, Electrical, Scenery, Membership, and so on. Members are free to join these committees to either learn new skills or to put their existing talents to best use.
