The Rockville Model Railroad Society (RMRS) is a a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2004 by the merging of the Gaithersburg Model Railroad Society and the Maryland Central Model Railroad Club. We are a non profit organization formed for educating the public in the hobby of scale model railroading. At this time, the Society does not have a physical home and is actively seeking out space to house a permanent layout in the local area. We occasionally host public meetings and often have tables at local train shows. We are a diverse group, with members modeling in most popular scales, subject areas and skill levels.
Officers are elected yearly at the club’s annual business meeting in the Spring. Officers carry out duties essential to the ongoing operations of the club. Additionally, when active, the club has various working committees that carry out specific goals and projects.
A Word About Donations
We will accept donations or let our club members know about items for sale if provided with clear and specific information and/or photos of the items along with contact information and phone number or email address. Please contact us via email for more information.
Alternatively, model trains and related equipment can be sold online via eBay, Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. RMRS does not buy model railroad items or collections, nor do we promote specific vendors or businesses.
